One upload, two deliveries: the pixel-exact digital file and a 300 dpi print-ready sheet.
What each line means
Printed size — print at exactly 26 × 32 mm. A few millimetres off and most offices hand the form back before anything else is checked.
Digital size — the digital file must measure 307 × 378 px. Anything smaller gets refused by many online systems before a person sees it.
Background — a plain White background, with no shadows or gradients. A wall lit unevenly is the fastest route to a refusal.
Resolution — 300 dpi keeps a face sharp in print. Below that, features soften and agencies ask for a retake.
Recency — Recent photo. Hair, glasses and weight change faster than people assume, and the officer compares the photo with you at the counter.
Glasses / expression — glare on lenses hides the eyes, and hidden eyes are an automatic rejection in most systems. If you wear glasses, read this line twice.

How to take a Spain Passport Photo with your phone
Spanish passport photo size
The Spanish passport photo is 26×32 mm on white, the smallest passport rectangle on this site. Most of Europe shares the 35×45 frame, while Spain keeps its own compact format, inherited from the DNI identity-card tradition. The head sits proportionally larger because the frame itself is smaller.
Photo requirements
Aside from the format, the requirements are familiar: a recent photo, front-facing, the face fully visible, no dark glasses, and clothing that does not hide the face. The small size does not relax any check; the same checks apply on a smaller canvas, leaving less room for a tilted horizon or an off-centre head.
Setup and lighting
Stand half a metre from a white wall with the light in front of you, not behind you. Hold the camera at eye level and look straight into the lens. The tight 26×32 crop punishes any lean, so square your shoulders before shooting.
Output size and checks
The preset crops to the exact 26×32 mm rectangle at 300 dpi and exports the 307×377 px digital file that the application portal takes. Background, head position and ratio are checked together before the file leaves the page.
Why Spain Passport Photo gets rejected
Centering and shoulder alignment
Photos fail most often because the head drifts off-centre or the shoulders tilt. A 35×45 frame forgives these faults; the 26×32 frame does not. The margins are thinner here.
Disallowed items
The rules name dark glasses. They also refuse clothing that hides the face: hoods, scarves worn high, and anything that breaks the outline of the face.
Common photo faults
Shadows on the wall, over- or under-exposed skin, a closed eye or a head turned off-axis are refused as anywhere else. The small frame makes these faults easier to create.
