About photo requirements in Philippines
Philippine visa photos follow the 35×45mm standard for regular applications. The 13A resident visa uses the 51×51mm square instead, so check which document your application asks for before printing.
Both Philippine document pages appear below with their exact sizes. The studio prepares the right file for the visa type you select.
How to take Philippines document photos with your phone
Photo formats by document type
Philippine paperwork uses more than one photo format. The passport counter captures applicants itself, with biometric capture against a royal-blue backdrop. Visa counters split by track: one requires a 35×45 mm print on white, another accepts passport-size or the 51×51 mm square. The document you are filing determines the rectangle.
Blue backdrop for biometric capture
The blue backdrop is the Philippine biometric signature. Counters that capture you on site use it. Where a physical photo is handed in instead, the preset here cuts the consensus 35×45 mm rectangle on the same royal blue, so the print matches what the counter would have produced.
Framing for 51×51 mm photos
For the 13A long-stay file, the photo is the 51×51 mm square. It travels with the immigrant for years. A square requires the head centred with even margins on every side. A crop framed for a portrait rectangle leaves the chin crowded, so reframe instead of reusing.
Why Philippines document photos get rejected
Track mismatch
A 35×45 mm print offered at the 51×51 mm counter, the square brought to the 35×45 mm track, or a photo prepared for a counter that wanted to capture you itself: track mismatch is the fastest fail in the Philippine set.
Backdrop problems
Blue where the track asks for white, shadows on either colour, or a gradient from a side window: the plainness check reads them all, whatever palette the counter uses.
Facial photo faults
Filters, glare on glasses, and tilted heads. The counters read the face before the paperwork. These faults end the reading.
