Mexico Passport & Visa Photos

Mexican passport photos use the 35×45mm format on a white background, with the face centred and a neutral expression.

The Mexican page below shows the size, background and framing rules with the official source cited. The studio produces a file cut to that standard.

Thirty days validity

Mexico's passport photo rules have the shortest freshness window on this site: thirty days. The print is the 35×45 mm rectangle — written height-first in the official PDF — on white, with retouching refused by name.

Photo-taking locations

In practice, most passport windows photograph applicants themselves. The paper print belongs to special cases such as name registration. The rules still govern the file you bring: the same rectangle, white background and thirty days.

Visa photo dimensions

The visa photo is a different shape. The consular pages give a range: passport-size means no smaller than 26×32 mm and no larger than 31×39 mm. This site provides the upper bound, 31×39 mm, with a white background.

Photo age

A photo five weeks old passes almost anywhere in the world and fails in Mexico. The thirty-day window is checked as written, so shoot close to your appointment date.

Passport and visa size mismatch

The passport wants 35×45 mm and the visa wants the smaller 31×39 mm frame. One print rarely satisfies both counters.

Background and retouching refusals

Off-white walls, shadows and retouched files are refused. These refusals are applied with the same strictness as the calendar.
