One upload, two deliveries: the pixel-exact digital file and a 300 dpi print-ready sheet.
What each line means
Printed size — print at exactly 33 × 48 mm. A few millimetres off and most offices hand the form back before anything else is checked.
Digital size — the digital file must measure 390 × 567 px. Anything smaller gets refused by many online systems before a person sees it.
Background — a plain White/Blue background, with no shadows or gradients. A wall lit unevenly is the fastest route to a refusal.
Resolution — 300 dpi keeps a face sharp in print. Below that, features soften and agencies ask for a retake.

How to take a 33x48mm Photo with your phone
The Chinese-system rectangle
33×48 mm is the working rectangle of the Chinese document system: the passport, the visa photo, the Hong Kong-Macau and Taiwan permits, and the baby's first passport all carry it. Europe settled on 35×45; the Chinese system kept its own rectangle two millimetres narrower and three taller.
Size difference from 35×45
The gap between 33×48 and 35×45 can look like rounding, and the forms do not round. A 35×45 file printed for a Chinese application is two millimetres too wide and three too short. It can look right at home and fail at the counter.
Setup and lighting
Use a white wall, frontal light, and the camera at eye level. The Chinese-system pages that share this rectangle each carry their own head band and background rule. This page gives the size; the document page gives the band.
What this page outputs
The preset crops to the exact 33×48 mm rectangle at print resolution, with head position, background and ratio checked before export.
Why 33x48mm Photo gets rejected
The 35×45 format
The most common failure is a 35×45 print from a European or Korean application submitted to a Chinese-system form. The difference shows at the counter even when it is hard to see on screen.
Small 2-inch photo naming
The small 2-inch photo on a Chinese photo studio menu is the same 33×48 mm. The name comes from the shop; the millimetres come from the form. Use millimetres at the counter. Inches are not the form's unit.
Common faults
Shadows, tilts, a wall that reads grey at the edges — the standard refusals on the Chinese-system rectangle.
