One upload, two deliveries: the pixel-exact digital file and a 300 dpi print-ready sheet.
What each line means
Printed size — print at exactly 35 × 45 mm. A few millimetres off and most offices hand the form back before anything else is checked.
Digital size — the digital file must measure 413 × 531 px. Anything smaller gets refused by many online systems before a person sees it.
Background — a plain White/Blue background, with no shadows or gradients. A wall lit unevenly is the fastest route to a refusal.
Resolution — 300 dpi keeps a face sharp in print. Below that, features soften and agencies ask for a retake.

How to take a 35x45mm Photo with your phone
Default rectangle
35×45 mm is the default rectangle for this whole site, shared by more than forty document pages from Schengen visas to Korean, British, Canadian and Australian applications. A photo cropped to 35×45 mm is the most portable size, accepted by nearly all countries, though a few require other dimensions.
Head bands by country
The countries that share the rectangle use different head bands inside it: the Dutch want 26-30 mm, the Danes 30-36, the Germans and French 32-36. Each band changes where the face sits. Check the specific document page before you print, because the rectangle alone does not specify the head band.
Setup and lighting
Use a plain light wall, frontal light, camera at eye level, and head centred with clear margin above. Keep the setup neutral, even, and plain.
Page output
The preset crops to the exact 35×45 mm rectangle at print resolution, with head position, background and ratio checked before export. The document-specific preset then adjusts the head band on top of it.
Why 35x45mm Photo gets rejected
Rejected close sizes
33×48 files fail because the difference of two or three millimetres matters to the form. The Chinese-system 33×48 rectangle is close to the accepted dimensions and is rejected.
Head band mismatches
A photo that fits 35×45 mm but was framed for a 25-35 head band will pass the rectangle check and fail the country check. The size page addresses the outer dimensions; the document page addresses the head band.
Common faults
Shadows, tilts, off-white walls are standard reasons for rejection on the widely used rectangle.
